"Position Summary:  Avionics Technicians are responsible to the Avionics Lead Technician and shall assure that the procedure outlines in this manual as well as all FAA Regulations and manufacturer’s instructions are complied with. In addition to all responsibilities listed under Technician, work involves the responsibility of performing routine maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, modification of aircraft systems, and installations on corporate jet aircraft. In addition, component removal and reinstallation, operational checks, and leak checks are all within the responsibility of the avionics technician. The avionics technician is responsible for using sound judgment and technical aptitude to make decisions regarding maintenance, troubleshooting and discrepancy resolution, as well as strong interpersonal skills to function well within a team of technicians.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities::  Ensure that all repairs are accomplished by approved methods and techniques and in accordance with the specifications set forth by the manufacturer in the service manuals, the Federal Aviation Regulations, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives and other data approved by the FAA administrator. Technicians are responsible for planning and coordinating the activities of their shop or area, so as to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency. Candidates must be thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the repair station manual, FAA Regulations, Airworthiness Directives and Advisory Circulars, Manufactures Service Letters/Bulletins and engineering orders. Technicians communicate with the avionics lead technician concerning progress of the assigned work. Perform airframe electrical, avionics repairs, inspections, installations and modifications. Avionics techs must perform the removal of and disassembly of defective parts, assembly and installations of replacement parts, and testing of system. Interpret technical manuals, drawings and blueprints. Technicians shall have all their work inspected (expect for off-site maintenance, see off-site maintenance requirements) by an appropriately rated inspector. Each tech must participate with management to strategize and implement new maintenance tactics. Provide leadership and communication to subordinates and employees.

Requirements: Education:  Two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certificate (optional)
Federal Communication Commission (FCC) License
Computer:  knowledge of MS Office Software, TFBO, and Corridor.
